With summer comes the annoyance, and diseases that can be brought by mosquitoes. For many years the only way to get personal protection from these biting insects that can carry West Nile Virus, Malaria, and other serious diseases, was to cover yourself with smelly, oily insect sprays.
S.C. Johnson has introduced a new product for the summer of 2009. Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent. With this product you clip it to your belt, turn on the fan which is part of the unit, and you are protected from mosquitoes for up to 12 hours.
All without the need to be coated with the sprays that can make you cough when applied, and leave you with a nasty taste in your mouth.
The Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent provides you with odorless, head to toe protection from mosquitoes by circulating the repellent around you.
You can use the Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent anywhere. Lounging in your back yard, working in the garden, at the park, or at an outdoor concert.
The Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent utilizes a small disk of repellent that fits into a receptacle in the unit. You place this in, close the cover, and turn on the battery operated fan.
This provides you with the personal protection that you once got from applying spray.
The Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent contains the fan powered unit, one repellent refill, and two AA batteries.
You can find the Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent at various stores such as Wal-Mart, Target and your local grocery store for around $10.00. Refills come two to a package and run around $5.00.
As with any product of this type, if you have small children, you should keep the Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent out of their reach. The repellent refill may be harmful if swallowed.
My wife usually gets bit badly by mosquitoes every summer. When the Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent came on the market, we decided to give it a try.
We brought the unit home, and had the repellent refill inserted, and the unit up and running in no time. She went outside to do some weeding.
Later I asked her how it performed. She had gotten bitten twice. However she did not have it clipped to her belt loop, as recommended.
She was also moving around. The directions also suggest if you move to give the Off© Clip-On™ Mosquito Repellent a moment or two for the protection to resume.
She tried it again, with it clipped to her belt loop, and it worked much better.
